A Foundation for all Girls+ and their Grown Ups

Our Mission

To Know is To Know (TKTK) aims to eliminate pelvic health disparities and enable all Girls+ to achieve their potential without the limitations of painful, embarrassing, and costly conditions like endometriosis, fibroids, PCOS, bladder leakage, and chronic constipation. TKTK fills gaps in traditional health education, which often leave youth from underrepresented ethnicities, religions, socioeconomic statuses, sexual orientations, or gender identities feeling confused and alienated. With a focus on awareness, education, prevention, and wellbeing, TKTK carefully tailors programs and materials to reach Girls+ and their grown ups where they are, leveraging the special connection between moms and daughters to encourage communication and have even greater impact.

After 15 years of research and patient advocacy as Women’s Health Foundation, TKTK was created in 2016 to continue providing pelvic health education and resources with a focus on adolescents and intergenerational relationships. Our published study, "A Pelvic Health Curriculum in School Settings: The Effect on Adolescent Females’ Knowledge" (Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, 2015), and our multi-award-winning book for girls 10-14 entitled Below Your Belt: How to be Queen of Your Pelvic Region form the cornerstones of our current work.

Our Programs

A culturally-sensitive website for women and girls from diverse backgrounds, BYB Conversations was created in partnership with HEART Women and Girls to provide much-needed pelvic health education within Muslim and other faith-based communities, as well as ethnic and immigrant populations.

Along with partner organizations, TKTK engages community health workers, also known as Promotoras, to bring pelvic health education to women who face socioeconomic or language barriers. With their dedicated service we are able to reach women in Spanish speaking communities and those who don't have easy access to specialized healthcare.

Total Control® is a comprehensive pelvic fitness and wellness program that has been training women of all ages and ability levels since 2008. The program combines pelvic floor exercises with information about recognizing symptoms of common conditions, seeking treatment, and practicing healthy habits.

In addition to our award winning book, Below Your Belt, we have also published a series of pamphlets covering a variety of topics, including hygiene, menstruation, bladder health, bowel health, and body image “below the belt.” All of our materials are available in English and Spanish. Our Insights

The impact of pelvic health disorders is staggering. Without education and intervention, many conditions that start in adolescence can last a lifetime, costing money, time, opportunities, and quality of life. The good news is that with the right combination of information, awareness, and resources, many pelvic health disorders can be managed, improved, or prevented altogether.
